Mani recounts the challenges faced by his Zoroastrian family, particularly his mother, due to Meher Baba’s spiritual path. Despite initial resistance and harassment from the Zoroastrian community, his mother eventually accepted Baba and publicly acknowledged Him. Mani expresses joy at the eventual acceptance of Baba by the Zoroastrian community, including those who were once hostile towards Him. Mani recounts the challenges faced by Meher Baba’s followers, particularly his family, due to their association with Baba. Despite being a model tenant, Mani’s mother faced harassment from neighbors in the Parsi Colony in Bombay, leading to a threat from the landlord to evict her. However, the landlord was unable to find a valid reason for eviction, and the three neighbors who defended her were later proven right as misfortune befell the others who signed the eviction petition. Mani recounts her father’s love for gardening and his ability to make plants flourish. She shares stories of his travels across India in search of God, highlighting his determination and the hardships he endured. Mani also marvels at her father’s knowledge of multiple languages, attributing it to divine inspiration.
