Gadge Maharaj, a revered saint, requested Meher Baba to visit Pandharpur, a pilgrimage site, on November 6th, 1954. Baba agreed, on the condition that lepers would be present. Upon arrival, Baba was kept waiting for hours, leading to frustration, until Gadge Maharaj finally arrived and led him through the crowd to a leper asylum, fulfilling his promise. A crowd gathered to see Meher Baba, believing him to be the Lord in flesh and blood. After a gathering and bhajans, Baba was taken to a leper asylum to fulfill a promise to a devotee. Although the asylum was empty, Baba found a crippled leper, bathed and fed him, and referred to him as a “beautiful soul in an ugly cage.”

After Meher Baba’s second accident, his hip joint was dislocated, and he refused surgery. Doctor Harry Kenmore, a blind chiropractor from New York, treated Baba and helped him regain his ability to walk. This led to a newspaper report describing Kenmore as a devotee who, through love and devotion, made the Lord walk.

Krishna, impressed by Pundalik’s service, manifested at their home while Pundalik was pressing his father’s feet. Pundalik, unaware of the divine presence, instructed the Lord to wait on a heap of bricks. After completing his task, Pundalik discovered the Lord had transformed into a stone idol, leading to the establishment of Pandharpur as a pilgrimage site.
