2. Don't Cry-Baba's Large Mansion
-
Baba enjoyed listening to newspaper readings, which were referred to as “bogus news.” Mani’s dramatic reading of detective stories, particularly Nero Wolfe, was a favorite pastime for Baba.
-
Eruch recounts a story where Baba comforted a departing devotee, assuring her she was not leaving but merely moving to another room in his vast mansion. He encourages the listener to embrace their longing for love, likening it to a child’s innocence and desire for affection.

Eruch B. Jessawala recounts the process of Meher Baba dictating “God Speaks” to him. The dictation was not a continuous process, but rather occurred sporadically during travels and after strenuous activities. Despite the challenges of lacking proper writing materials and a typewriter, the manuscript was completed within a tight deadline with the help of Bhau and a court typist. Eruch recounts the challenges of writing Baba’s book, “God Speaks,” amidst distractions from the mandali and limited resources. He describes the process of transcribing Baba’s dictations in multiple languages into English, often working late into the night. Eruch also explains the dedication of the book, highlighting the role of illusion in sustaining the concept of reality. A billionaire’s son experiences darkness for the first time and realizes the value of light.
-
After Meher Baba’s passing, various unusual events were reported. Joan Rupert saw Baba in Australia, a principal in Mombasa witnessed a sudden darkness at exactly the time of His passing, and Mecca experienced a 7-day flood which began at Baba’s passing and went until His body was finally covered in the Tomb 7 days later. Additionally, a false report circulated that Baba died in a cave, likely due to his seclusion.

Marc DeMatteis, a comic book author, visited Meherazad and gifted a series of comics to the Meherazad library. The comics, part of the “Ancient One” series, feature Baba and are currently being read by the group. DeMatteis, who resides in upstate New York, is known for his work on various Marvel Comics series and is currently working on several graphic novels. A passage is read about Dr. Stephen Strange, the Master of the Mystic Arts, and his journey to the Ancient One’s temple. The passage reflects on Strange’s past, his transformation, and the influence of the Ancient One. The conversation then shifts to a discussion about Meher Baba, with anecdotes about how his teachings have been subtly incorporated into comics and science fiction.

Baba explains that there are seven planes of involution of consciousness, with additional planes existing between the gross and the first plane, and between each of the subsequent planes and the next one.
-
A science fiction novel is being circulated that mentions Meher Baba and claims to contain the location of a hidden treasure, “The Book.” The novel suggests the treasure is buried near Meherabad, sparking concern about potential disturbances from treasure hunters. A humorous skit was performed, revealing the true “Book” is the book of one’s heart.
