Beatrice Dimpfl recounts her husband Lud’s spiritual journey, which led him to become a Sufi and later a devoted follower of Meher Baba. She shares memories of Baba’s visits to the West in 1956 and 1958, highlighting Baba’s efforts to unite the Sufi organization and His influence on her husband’s life. Beatrice also expresses her sympathy for the Sufi organization’s current challenges and hopes for its continued success. Lud, who was called by Baba to India, was instructed to continue his work in the West. Beatrice, Lud’s wife, joined him on a trip to New York to meet Baba, who was visiting with his mandali. During their stay, Beatrice observed Baba’s interactions with his followers, attended meetings, and explored New York City with friends.

In 1958, Meher Baba held a meeting in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, despite being injured in a car accident. The event included a day open to the public and a special day for children, featuring activities like a birthday celebration for Baba and a rendition of “He’s Got the Whole World in His Hands.” Beatrice Dimpfl recalls the overwhelming experience of meeting Baba, who gave each person a personal message, and the sense of being loved and understood by Him. Beatrice recounts her experiences with Meher Baba, including a time when Baba’s universal work coincided with a disaster in India. She describes a trip to the sea with Baba and a visit to her home in San Francisco, where Baba stayed. Beatrice and her family later moved to Persia for two years, where they were able to attend the East-West Gathering.
