Adi describes the New Life as a challenging and mentally torturous experience, despite being a blessing from Meher Baba. The drastic change in treatment from affection to harsh discipline was difficult to endure, but ultimately proved to be a valuable training and preparation for spiritual growth. Adi acknowledges the difficulty of putting spiritual teachings into practice, highlighting the disparity between theoretical understanding and practical application.

This involves allowing thoughts to come and go without acting on them, and finding joy in the purpose behind the discipline. While Baba encouraged certain practices like cold showers, it’s important to consider the context and not blindly follow without understanding the underlying purpose.

Adi describes three types of knowledge: intellectual, visual, and experiential. Intellectual knowledge is inconclusive, visual knowledge is more conclusive but still delusive, and experiential knowledge, achieved through identity and becoming one with the subject, is the only fully conclusive knowledge. This experiential knowledge, the ‘I Am God’ stage, can only be attained through the grace of a Perfect Master or Avatar.
